About the Speakers

Shashi Shamarao has over 2 decades of experience leading the operations, development, and testing of video applications. Shashi has been in senior leadership roles at Charter for over seven years. She currently leads the operations of IP Video applications at Charter, enabling customers to access Charter’s video content anywhere on any platform. Before joining Charter, she worked as an advisory architect leading private and public cloud initiatives for financial institutions. With a BS in telecommunication engineering, Shashi seeks out roles that help create a positive impact on customers’ viewing experience and in solving challenging problems. Shashi gets great satisfaction from exploring non-traditional areas in the IT industry, and being a catalyst to enhance efficiencies.

 

Harry Winning is the role Vice President of Implementation & Wireless Network Operations at Charter Communications. His responsibilities include management of Network Technology’s Capital & Operational Budget, NTO Project Management, Tier 1 Implementation and day to day operational support of the Spectrum Mobile WiFi & 5G Core Networks. During his 17-years with Charter Communications, he has held many leadership roles covering multiple operational responsibilities. His leadership has been instrumental in managing and sponsoring a variety of new initiatives to include the Spectrum Mobile WiFi Network conversation, the on-going Managed WiFi/NetOps operational integration and our 5G Mobile core EFT build. Prior to the merger Harry was the operational technical lead for market DWDM optical platforms, details include $400million in green and brown field optical platform upgrades. Harry has a strong background with building and leading highly efficient teams, the ability to train technical personnel and convey complex concepts in understandable terms.

 

Matthew Stanek is Senior Vice President of Network Technology Operations for Charter Communications. While at Time Warner Cable he completed company wide network upgrades including Texas, Los Angeles, Midwest, Northeast, New York, and Carolina regions. He was instrumental in structuring the former West Network Operation and Engineering organization and successfully developed a high performing team of leaders and engineers to support all aspects of the business, and advanced services of TWC. As part of the Texas team, Matthew was a principle lead in several of Time Warner Cable’s new product beta tests and launches, such as Digital, VOD, HD, and Switched Digital. In 2001, the Society of Telecommunications Engineers recognized him for the Innovation and Deployment of Interactive Services. Matthew received the CED’s Pacesetter Award in 2005 for his leadership role in deploying switched digital services. He was also instrumental with the development and deployment of the successful “Unified” tool suite across Time Warner Cable’s organization which today is known as the Rio Tool Suite that is used by over 45,000 employees in Charter Communications.

 

Norma Cordova is responsible for planning, design, implementation and operations of Charter’s national backbone network. The backbone team is accountable for setting the Implementation & Operations policies and standards to provide highly reliable and resilient backbone network connectivity. The backbone team supports teams in the development of new technology solutions and partners with counterparts to meet strategy and goals of the corporation. Norma joined Time Warner Satellite Services in 1994 as a customer service representative and was later promoted to Area Manager over Austin, Texas area. She’s held roles in Information Systems learning both billing systems and working as a computer operator, Technical Operations as a TechOps Specialist, and Technical Analyst, Director, and VP in Engineering. She’s held two VP roles within Network Operations. Today, Norma is responsible for all aspects of operating Charter’s national backbone. Prior to joining Charter, Norma worked in the software development field. She holds a Bachelors in Finance and is currently in the process of obtaining her Masters in Engineering Management.

 

About the Moderator

Kristin Gulasy joined Charter in 2015 as Vice President, New Products and Services where she was responsible for the infrastructure build and application roll out of Spectrum Guide across the Charter Enterprise. She now heads up a team focused on strategic process and programs for Network Operations. Her team is responsible for identifying and implementing standards and best practices relative to planning and delivery of business critical commitments, providing oversight for long running, complex and cross functional programs, and standardizing on tools, processes and reporting across Network Operations. She has also served as Vice President IP Video Operations where she led the teams responsible for operation of Spectrum TV Application streaming service.  Prior to joining Charter, she held several leadership positions at Cablevision Systems Corp where she was responsible for the deployment and operation of video systems and platforms including Cloud DVR,  Set Top Box Controllers, VOD and IP Video Platforms.
