About the Speakers

Alexis Anderten

Alexis has been in the telecommunications industry over 25 years. Currently, she is the Senior Director of Regulatory Compliance and Planning at Charter Communications, where she oversees the federal technical compliance for Charter’s cable systems nationwide. Alexis has been an active volunteer since she was a teen with a wide range of organizations, including community-based, government, and industry-related. Alexis is currently a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), and the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), and just recently finished her term as board member for the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame.  She also previously served on a board for survivors of domestic violence.

 

Barbara Nelms

Barbara has been in the Telecommunications Industry since 2011. In her current role as a Sr. Program Manager, Mobile for Charter Communications, she oversees project deployment for non-customer facing projects and the release coordination of all the Company’s mobile features and functionality. Barbara was named WICT Rocky Mountain Chapter President for the 2021-2022 term, and she has also held the office of Vice President, Board Operations Director, and Director of Marketing & Communications. She co-hosts a weekly Ask Us Anything series to help other WICT leaders with best practices for programming, board development, and so much more. In 2020, Barbara was selected by Charter to interview Stephanie Mitchko-Beale for the 2020 Grace Hopper Celebration as a featured session in their first ever virtual event.

 

Julie Courtney

Julie is the Founder and President of VeriCour, a Denver-based Information Technology Professional Services company, focused on the recruitment and placement of IT professionals. Her team has provided IT recruiting services to national cable companies for the past 7 years. Julie has been on the Board of Directors at KidsTek for the past 3 years. She is passionate about KidsTek’s mission to provide computer literacy programs to Colorado’s highest needs students.
