Tech It Out
Tech It Out is one-of-a-kind event that provides exceptional opportunities to learn and network in the exhilarating technology field. WICT Rocky Mountain and Communications Technology Professionals (CTP) have joined forces for two years to showcase the contributions of women in cable technology and encourage women to enter the technology field.
The inaugural Tech It Out event in 2008 was so successful that it was awarded the prestigious Beacon Award by the Association of Cable Communicators. Proudly, the much anticipated 2009 Tech It Out was a sold-out event!
Tech It Out 2009 featured:
- Engaging panel discussions focused on innovation, competition and cutting-edge technologies
- Time Warner Cable’s WICT RM Women in Technology 2008: Grace Egan
- and Sherisse Hawkins as keynote speakers
- State-of-the-art technology demonstrations throughout The Cable Center
- Keynote closing panel with Comcast CTO Tony Werner and Women Technology Leaders

In its commitment to leadership development, WICT Rocky Mountain is thrilled to award event scholarships to students studying in the field of technology. Scholarships are open to high school, graduate and undergraduate students. In 2009, nine students were awarded scholarships to Tech It Out and each of the recipients was paired with a WICT mentor for the day based on field of study.

Tech It Out Mission
Tech It Out is an innovative educational program that helps professionals expand proficiencies in emerging technology, understand cross-industry evolution and meet changing customer needs while showcasing women working in technical areas. TIO provides an open environment for professionals at all levels to ask questions, experience technology demonstrations and network with women in technical fields. Tech It Out offers insightful knowledge, know-how and confidence to tackle everyday and future challenges.
